My husband and I found out about Horner Painting through our neighbors who also had their exterior painting done by them and I have to say that we are so glad that they did the job for us. This painting company is amazing. From day one, their goal is customer satisfaction. Everyone that we dealt with throughout the process has a great work ethic, very conscientious and the communication process was great! We would highly recommend this painting business to anyone who is considering having painting done. Kudos to Miller Brooks, Adam Hulme, our painting crew Travis, Andres, Peter and administrative personnel! All of them were great!

Color Matching

We can match the color of your existing paint, even if you don’t know the paint name or where it came from. We often provide color matching for folks who have updated their fixtures, renovated, repaired their drywall, and those with smudged and marked walls. To perfectly match your paint color, we’ll take a small sample of the paint and utilize a professional color mixer to formulate the perfect match. Then, it’s just a matter of testing the color against the surface of your wall. If it’s a perfect fit, then voila, we paint the rest of the surface.

Our Interior Painting Process

The key to achieving a beautiful, high-quality paint job relies not only on the experience of the painter, but on having a proven process to ensure a flawless finish. Our painting process consists of several steps, some that don’t even involve a brush or paint can. Instead, we focus on communication and extensive preparation including:

  • In-home color consultations
  • Color sampling
  • Performing minor repairs
  • Caulking and glazing
  • Taping
  • Covering furniture, walls, and other belongings
  • Coordination of painting schedule

Interior Home Painting FAQs

How long will my painting project take?

Most home interior projects can be completed within a day, and even large interiors can be completed within a day or two. For large commercial spaces, painting may take several days, and we’d be happy to provide you with a timeline estimate for your project.

How can I prepare for my upcoming interior home painting project?

There are a few things you can do for us to prepare your space for painting. First of all, take down any paintings, artwork, and other wall hangings that will be in the way. We recommend that you store these items safely in another room for the time being. You should also remove rugs and curtains throughout your spaces.

Next, we’d appreciate it if you could move any furniture that can get in the way while we’re moving through your home. For example, if you have a couch that is resting against a wall that is about to be painted, you can move it to a different room or to the center of the room, where it can be covered and kept out of the way. Also, we would appreciate it if you made it easy to enter your home to get to the surfaces that we’re going to paint — so you may want to move vehicles that are in the driveway, furniture in your entryway, and other obstructions that might be inconvenient.

Finally, you should make plans for kids, pets, and yourself. While we’re at your home, it will be easiest and most convenient to paint your space without any distractions. For example, we can paint your home while you’re away at work and the kids are at school, in order to complete the job more efficiently.

If you’re curious about other ways that you can prepare for your upcoming interior painting project, don’t hesitate to reach out to us, we’d be happy to give you a checklist of tasks that you can complete before we show up.

Do you use water-resistant paints for bathrooms?

Yes, we can use specialized paint that is more resistant to damage caused by a high-moisture environment in your bathroom. These paints are less likely to crack or warp when there is steam in the air, making them ideal for bathroom interiors. Take note, however, that mold and mildew may still grow on these surfaces, so you’ll want to clean them from time to time.

Can you repair my walls before painting them?

Yes. Here at Horner Painting, we can provide minor wall repairs to fix any blemishes on the surfaces of your walls before we apply paint. We can fill in small holes, patch cracks, and perform similar minor repairs. However, we do not provide full drywall installation services, only some drywall repairs. If you’re curious whether or not we can patch up any areas in your home, simply give us a call.

Do you paint surfaces other than drywall?

Yes. We can paint and finish all sorts of surfaces in your home. We work with wood surfaces, plaster walls, walls that have wallpaper on them, textured walls, brick, cement, concrete, and other surfaces that can hold paint. If you’re curious about a surface in your space, just reach out to us. We will let you know whether or not we can paint your surface, and we can tell you about appropriate paint types for those surfaces.

How can I clean my walls after they're painted?

While your paint will be dry to the touch shortly after application, you should still wait a couple of weeks before you clean any surfaces that have been painted. Wait two weeks to clean any of these surfaces. At this point, you can use a detergent that is designed to clean painted surfaces. Simply follow the directions on the packaging of the product. Do not use abrasive cleaning tools — only use soft sponges or cloths to clean your surfaces.
